About

Cindy is a Co-Founder and Partner of Moving The Human Spirit.  She specializes in Individual, Couples and Relationship Wellness, Trauma Informed Coaching and Self Leadership Initiatives within Families, Teams, Organizations and Businesses.

Cindy radiates: flexibility, spontaneity, adventure and when you have the opportunity to meet her – you will understand why!  She has a very natural warm and easy ability for connection with people from all walks of life and particularly in various cultures in Canada and around the world.  Her passion is national and international travel, engaging with others and exploring ways of connecting our global family as one.  Those who have worked with Cindy describe the experience of her deep professional care and love, her elegance and true connection to spirit.

Cindy has many years of exposure and experience in working along with her own family businesses, teams, with various entrepreneurs, various communities, families and individuals from many walks of life.  Relationship building, empathy and trust has been an integral part of this successful process.  Approaching conversations by being aware of the neuro-science of the inter-relatedness of the mind, body and nervous system, appreciating each person as a valued human being with their own core values and true identity, accessing the story behind the behavior/addiction, making meaning of the past/current reality, using appreciative inquiry and a forward focused approach, using emotional and conversational intelligence methods and continuing to build on this positive approach for each individual/couple/organization - has provided the start of a solid foundation for any relationship – whether within the family, team or organization.

All of this on-going experience, exposure and training – has led her to working with others who are engaged in “Moving The Human Spirit” – with a particular interest in Health and Wellness for all and on every level of human consciousness – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Her grassroots approach is evident in her mantra: A healthy individual - creates a healthy world.

Testimonials

“We had a fair bit of doubt of how the (6 months of Coaching) would play out at the beginning.  Cindy was wonderful in dispelling that thought and making us feel at total ease – like we had known her for many years.  The balance of couple and individual sessions was excellent and well placed.  Cindy was patient and extremely flexible.  She quickly adapted to our surrounding (present) demands of our busy life to allow us to relax, participate and learn from each session.  I can remember at the start of some of the sessions that I didn’t want to do it, I had other pressing items to look after and by the end of the session I was wishing it wouldn’t end.”

“Over the 6 months of the Couples Coaching Program it provided the tools and intent to step into the relationship, provided personal as well as couple support and a way to specifically communicate each week.  Now we are connecting more and more each day.  We developed honest conversation skills, learning to listen and speak from the heart with respect as equal partners and becoming more inclusive in our relationship.  Our personal health is improving more and more, things are calmer and easier and life is more pleasant – we are learning to play, laugh and have fun.”

“Thank you so very much for all of your amazing insights and help, showing us how to value ourselves and connections throughout the 6 months of our coaching.  We are definitely changed as individuals and as a couple!  The magic has begun!”

“I was slightly hesitant when Cindy came to me asking if I would like to sit down with her for a life coaching session.  Experiences with previous counsellors and psychologists left me frustrated.  I was sick of rehashing events in my past and being told why I felt or acted the way I did.  I was sick of trying to figure out why.  I wanted to know how to change the “why” and how to move forward.  The first thing I asked Cindy was if she wanted to know about my past.  She shook her head and calmly told me that it wasn’t my past that mattered – it was my future.  I was blown away!  She went on to ask me what I wanted out of life, what I needed to be happy and how to live the best life I possibly could.  When I didn’t know the answer, she helped me connect the dots.  I left my session feeling completely empowered, liberated and motivated to take the steps I needed to become the person I wanted to be!  I couldn’t believe that Cindy managed to do in an hour what no one else ever could.”

COPE PROGRAM:
"The program was literally a life saver because of its content and timing.  It allowed us to associate with others in a similar situation so that we didn’t feel alone, trying to face the harsh reality of PTSD by ourselves.  It provided a deep understanding of what was really happening and a tool box so that we could work on our own to get out of the loneliness and isolation.  When dealing with PTSD as a couple, there is a lot of blaming (through a lack of understanding the invisible injury), COPE showed us how we can work together, communicate and move forward as a couple.  The successful of the program comes from its intense Phase I and supportive Phase II approach. We had a fair bit of doubt as to how the Phase II part of COPE would play out at the beginning.  Cindy was wonderful is dispelling that thought and making us feel at total ease – like we had known her for many years. The balance of couple and individual sessions was excellent and well placed. Cindy was patient and extremely flexible.  She quickly adapted to our surrounding (present) demands of our busy life to allow us to relax, participate and learn from each session.  I can remember at the start of some of the sessions that I didn’t want to do it, I had other pressing items to look after and by the end of the session I was wishing it wouldn’t end. “Why is that important to me”  a line that will live in our minds.  It drove us on to a better understanding of the situation and of each other.  It allowed us to connect with a solid feeling that life is good and we can move forward as individuals and as a couple. The Vision Board was probably the highlight.  I had a wall with Past accomplishments, which was enabling me to live in the past (life before PTSD).  The vision board allowed us to see how bright our future is, what was important to us and to take time to appreciate the fact that we are doing ok.  Yes we have good days and some bad days but after 46 years of being together, we know that we have many more good days ahead of us.  Cindy showed us that and we are eternally grateful to Cindy for that."

"Cindy Hogg worked with me, as a mentor coach, for five sessions during my ACC re-accreditation process with the ICF. I found Cindy to be extremely knowledgeable of ICF Core Competencies and very willing to share her expertise and experiences with me.  Through my work with her, I came away with actionable items regarding my coaching technique and a clearer sense of direction regarding my own future as a coach."

"Since Cindy coached us, we are happier and more content, optimistic, hopeful, loving and understanding with a feeling of emotional connection. We developed honest conversation skills, learning to listen and speak from the heart with respect as equal partners and becoming more inclusive in our relationship. Our personal health is improving more and more, things are calmer and easier and life is more pleasant - we are learning to play, laugh and have fun!"
COPE Program - 2015/2016 Wayne & Dianne Federation, Airdrie, Alberta - Canada

"My name is Susan and I am the spouse of a retired Navy sailor who has PTSD. He did not have PTSD when we met and got married. But something happened and it felt like all of a sudden there was a different man in my life. Once diagnosed, he had access to Doctors and the Military Medical System. I was invited to a few sessions and also told I could go on my own. However, there was nothing for us as a couple. I felt alone and blamed myself for so much and I just did not understand what had happened or how I should act / react. Before COPE we had become associates, living in the same house, sharing the same space.  The connection was there but aloof and tense. We happened to meet Chris and Kathryn Linford at a function and heard about COPE. We immediately knew this was something we just had to do together. It was weird though, I was scared to go, but also scared not to go. What was I going to learn, what was I going to have to do or share? Five days of intensive time together with others, who would look forward to that?   It was hard, but it was in the end well worth every second and amazing. It is true that you do not know what you do not know. Now I KNOW!  And I can not imagine ever going back. The most important part for me from COPE was the understanding of not only PTSD (because believe me I had done lots of reading) but how HIS PTSD affected him and how he was living with it.  I learned to understand it was not me or what I was or was not doing.  Above all I learned I am not alone!!  There are others out there with the same or similar experiences.  Right from meeting Chris and Kathryn, all the way through the intake process, the five day intensive sessions and through until the end of Phase two (and beyond because of the private face book group) we feel so much better as a couple. We have much more understanding of how PTSD affects us and how we can cope or deal with issues and challenges that come up. COPE has given us the tools to be a functioning couple once again."

"The C.O.P.E. program showed the impact of PTSD on spouses. Over the 6 months of the Phase II Couples Coaching program it provided the tools and intent to step into the relationship, provided personal as well as couple support and a way to specifically communicate each week.  Now we are connecting more and more each day.  It has given us the value of peace and serenity, a willingness to explore, an opportunity for being really committed to being honest and open with self and spouse.
We are happier and more content, optimistic, hopeful, loving and understanding with a feeling of emotional connection.  We developed honest conversation skills, learning to listen and speak from the heart with respect as equal partners and becoming more inclusive in our relationship.   Our personal health is improving more and more, things are calmer and easier and life is more pleasant - we are learning to play, laugh and have fun!"

"I loved working with Cindy as my coach!  She had a way of really getting to the key issues in a friendly gentle manner.  Intelligent, articulate and engaging, I was always made to feel comfortable and supported however challenging the issue.  Her questions were always phrased in just the right way to help me to see what I needed with a depth of insight I had not considered possible.  It was a pleasure to look forward to our sessions and with a great sense of satisfaction to look back on all that we accomplished. P.S. I passed my oral assessment with the ICF! Thank you for your great help in achieving this milestone."
Carl Emerson, ICF, Professional Coach, Switzerland, ICF - Peer Mentor Coaching

"Dear Cindy:  Thank you so very much for all of your amazing insights and help, showing us how to value ourselves and connections throughout the 6 months of our coaching.  We are definitely changed as individuals and as a couple!  The magic has begun!  We hope to be able to keep in touch and build on the friendship and celebrations!  Thank you once again!"
Most Sincerely,
Susan & Stephane (Participants of COPE program)

"Cindy is "The Eye-Opener Coach". Her creative and metaphorical problem solving approach is really inspiring. It made me find the purpose of my life, my sacred gifts and the best ways to commit. I have realized that I have more confidence, more balance and am much more happier. She always moves my soul and lets me see the Ah-ha! in my direction."
Young Joo, ICF - ACC Certified Coach, Korea

"Always calm, deep and “present” in the moment. Thank you Cindy! I highly recommend Cindy as a Soul Coach. This is the feeling of freedom and peace that I received from working with her! Priceless! Lots of hugs my guide!"

"I was pleasantly surprised with what I learned about myself and would totally recommend this to anyone, young or old. Cindy kept me on track in each session and made it very easy to understand and think outside the box.  I thoroughly enjoyed each session and always looked forward to the next one.  I have known Cindy for over 13 years and this is definitely her calling or should I say one of her gifts!!!  All the best to you Cindy!"
Tess Hayward, General Manager, Nature's Inn & Forest View Apts/Pineridge Townhouses

"I found the coaching sessions with Cindy to be very insightful. Life is complicated, and often muddled with expectations, habits and emotions. It was very helpful to have the one-on-one coaching sessions to help to dis-entangle the attachments and clarify my options. Cindy has a warm and calming nature, and she is an excellent coach. Her questions helped me to focus on the most important issues, and her listening skills and ability to reflect my thoughts really helped to pinpoint the areas in my life that most excited me and also helped me to spot some areas in my life and work situation that I wasn't so enthusiastic about.  The insight really helped me to shift how I spend my time and energy. I would recommend a life coaching session with Cindy to any of my patients, family or friends. I also look forward to my next session!"
Lisa Cumberland, Registered Acupuncturist, B.A. Psychology

"Cindy provides a powerful relationship, totally future oriented and providing a mental environment that ensures that real dreams come true. In my case, as a Coach I also need a Coach and a simple conversation with Cindy helps me be in the positive and gives me reason for action. That is Cindy´s Coaching."
João Gomes, Brazilian Business Man, Speaker, Professor of Sales and Marketing and Coach

"Cindy is a visionary and compassionate leader. Her energy, keen awareness and creativity also made her a wonderful coach to me. She has helped me numerous times to look beyond the immediate difficulties and see the vast potential internally and externally."

"Cindy was instrumental in helping me through a major life transition. Her gentle yet focused coaching got me to a place where I felt confident enough to step out and achieve my goals.  Thank you!"
Councillor Eric Zhelka, District of Oak Bay

"My experience in coaching with Cindy has lead to solutions for myself!  Cindy provided a platform, a "me time" necessary to talk about what I wanted.  She has a unique ability to give me the space and time I need within our conversations to reflect upon myself,  and ask some powerful  questions around my thoughts. Cindy is a very good listener. Cindy provided me with clarity by way of remaining with me in our conversations and bringing me back to what I had said I wanted within the coaching call..This allowed me to create an awareness for myself that lead to actions created by myself, which I feel are far more significant than anyone telling you what you should/could do. If you are looking for clarity in any given area in your life, and an effective way of coming up with solutions for yourself, I would highly recommend Cindy as your coach."
Vivian Bach, Health and Wellness Coach, Vancouver, BC

"The COPE Phase 2 - Weekly Coaching for us as Individuals and as a Couple is a necessary and integral part of the COPE program. Living with PTSD, can be very challenging and requires a life long strategy in order to cope. Our Moving The Human Spirit - Trauma Informed Relationship and Life Coach provided us with concepts, insights and tools that has not only enabled my wife and I to better understand and communicate with each other but it has also turned the page for us for a better relationship. Thank you for all that you have done for us!"
Nelson and Sarah Aranguiz - COPE Participants

"Had anyone approached us about COPE 10 years ago I would have said, “I don’t think so”. However as we kept slipping down that slope we began to grasp for things to steady (save) our life and relationship. I'm glad the COPE program was finally laid before myself and Britt. We were unsure that first night but after a shaky start and amazing people we were able to get our life back. Although it will always be a work in progress I thank all the amazing folks from COPE and the brave people looking to get their lives back that took the journey with us. Once phase one was complete there was the prospect of phase two. With the help of Cindy Hogg of M.T.H.S. and her positive attitude we were able to build on what was accomplished in phase one. Thank you Chris, Kathryn and Cindy for giving back what may have been lost. Thank you all. God Bless!"
